Giving to The Friends of The City Library has never been easier! If you shop at Smith’s you can link your Rewards Card to give 0.5% every time you shop. Every little bit adds up to help support The Friends and their mission. 

 

Signing up is easy. Follow the instructions below:

 

  1. Go to https://www.smithsfoodanddrug.com/

  2. Sign in to your digital account.

  3. Click “My Account” (It’s in the drop down menu under your name in the top right corner)

  4. Click on “Inspiring Donations” from the left hand column. 

  5. Enter “The Friends of The City Library” into the search field. 

  6. Select The Friends of The City Library a from the list and click “Save”.

The extra change from each transaction you make will be “rounded up” and donated every month to Friends of the Salt Lake City Public Library.

Donate Materials

The Friends of The City Library accepts donations of gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, and comic books. These items are sold at Book Sales at the Main Library throughout the year. Proceeds from these sales fund a variety of Library projects including programs and exhibits, materials, outreach events, computer equipment, furnishings, and more.

Donations are tax-deductible. Please consult with an accountant or tax preparer to determine the value of your donation.

 

We do not accept:

  • VHS
  • Books with time-sensitive topics, such as business, tax, investment, computers/software, textbooks, etc.

Become a Member of The Friends of The City Library

For nearly 50 years, the Friends of The City Library have dedicated themselves to supporting and enriching The City Library. We invite you to join this dynamic group of individuals who share a love of books and libraries. Proceeds earned through membership dues, Used Book Sales, and The Library Store are donated directly to the Library.
